Where You Can Register With BetInAsia: Restricted Countries

The short answer

BetInAsia does not accept residents of 29 countries and territories, all listed below, and the list sits in clause 4.1.3 of its terms. Residents of other countries register on the BetInAsia Portal with an email address and a country of residence, funds the BIA Wallet, and then opens a product account. This page gives the full list, the clauses that surround it, the registration steps and the identity check, so you can read the rule once and know where you stand.

How the restriction works

The test is where you live. Clauses 3.3 and 4.1.2 of the BetInAsia terms ask you to be a resident of a jurisdiction that allows gambling, and not a resident of any country that prohibits online gambling for its residents or for anyone inside its borders.

Clause 4.1.3 then names the countries outright, and it covers people accessing the website from them as well as people who live there. The law of your own country decides whether betting online is legal for you, and checking that your use of the service is legal is your responsibility alone.

Most of us read terms after something goes wrong, not before. Two minutes with clause 4 first is cheaper.

If brokers are new to you, betting brokers in plain terms covers the idea, and BetInAsia explained covers this broker.

Countries BetInAsia does not accept

The list below follows the order of clause 4.1.3 exactly. If you are here because a bookmaker cut your account back, the restrictions at regular bookmakers are a separate matter.

The clauses around the list

Six clauses sit around the list. Together they take about two minutes to read.

  • 3.1 Age: you are over 18, or over the legal gambling age of your jurisdiction where that is higher.
  • 3.3 and 4.1.2 Residence: you live in a jurisdiction that allows gambling, and not in a country that prohibits online gambling.
  • 4.1.3 The list: residents of the countries in the list, and people accessing the website from them, are not accepted.
  • 5.1 and 5.10 BetInAsia can refuse a registration without giving a reason.
  • 8.8 Where online gambling is illegal, you are not authorised to deposit with a payment card, and knowing the law in your country of domicile is the customer's responsibility.
  • 9.8 Withdrawals and refunds are not guaranteed when clause 3.3 or clause 4 is not respected.

We would read this clause before any third-party list. It is short, it is the text that applies, and nobody else's summary of it is better than the original.

Registering at BetInAsia if your country is not listed

Five steps take you from the Portal to a first bet, and the first three happen before any product account exists. Everything below is done from your own Portal profile, one step at a time.

  1. Register on the Portal

Open the registration form on the BetInAsia Portal and enter your full name, your email address, your country of residence and the currency of your account. Use an address you can reach, because clause 5.3 requires a valid one. To change your country, currency or address later, you email support.

  2. Confirm your email and set a password

BetInAsia sends a confirmation email. Follow it, then create your password on the login page.

  3. Fund the BIA Wallet

A deposit comes first, because a product account cannot be opened until the wallet is funded. The minimum deposit is EUR 50 (clause 6.2), and clause 8.1 asks for deposits from an account or payment system registered in your own name.

  4. Create a product account

In the Portal, open a product account (BLACK, SharpX or PS3838) once the wallet is funded. The login details for the product account arrive by email after you transfer funds in.

  5. Transfer from the wallet and bet

Move funds from the BIA Wallet to the product account, then place your bets there.

Each customer has one profile, and clause 5.4 lets BetInAsia close extra accounts immediately, including accounts opened through representatives, relatives or third parties. After registering, the Portal home page gives you test accounts for the products, with no real or virtual funds in them; there is no test account for PS3838.

Two-factor authentication on the Portal runs through an authenticator app and is not compulsory. Switch it on anyway, because a password is the only lock on an account that holds your money, and a phone app takes a minute to set up.

Clause 5.6 keeps the password confidential and makes you answerable for what happens on the account.

On the product side, Sharp Exchange and market depth covers SharpX, and PS3838 and Pinnacle covers the platform that is a Pinnacle white label. BIA apex is a separate BetInAsia service for bettors who want to place bets over a bookmaker's limits. It needs a deposit of at least EUR 5,000 and a minimum stake of EUR 1,000 per bet, and BetInAsia accepts requests at its sole discretion.

Identity checks

Clause 5.2 lets BetInAsia require verification before you start betting or when you withdraw, and clause 9.4 repeats the check before a withdrawal, with verification possible at any time. Besides documents, that check can include a selfie or a verification call. You need two documents: a photo ID (passport, driving licence or national ID card) and a recent utility bill or bank statement, less than three months old, as proof of address. Upload them in your BIA profile under KYC, as PDF, PNG or JPEG files of 5 MB or less, with all four corners visible. Screenshots are refused.

The proof of address shows your name, your residence address and the issue date, and the KYC Department tells you whether your documents are accepted. The documents brokers ask for are laid out in full on their own page.

We would upload both before the first withdrawal request rather than during it, since a withdrawal is one of the moments the check can land, and a file that is ready costs nothing.

Questions people ask

Which countries are restricted from using BetInAsia?

The 29 countries and territories in the list above, all taken from clause 4.1.3 of the BetInAsia terms. A resident of one of them cannot register. Residents of other countries follow the Portal steps in the registration section.

Is the restriction about residence or nationality?

Residence. Clauses 3.3 and 4.1.3 are both written around where you live, and neither mentions nationality, so a passport does not move you on or off the list.

Is the list the same at every broker?

No. Each broker sets its own rules. The AsianConnect rules are in AsianConnect explained, the MadMarket rules are in the guide on how MadMarket works, and Sportmarket has its own page on the countries where Sportmarket is restricted. Read the list of the broker you plan to use, not the one you remember from another.

Why are some payment methods missing from my Portal?

Because each country has its own restrictions and regulation policies for each payment method, and not every country supports every method BetInAsia offers. The Portal shows the methods your country of residence supports. If one is missing, your country restricts it and BetInAsia cannot add it. Withdrawals follow the same logic: bank withdrawal can be unavailable depending on your country of residence.
