Who Can Register at Sportmarket: Restricted Countries List

The short answer

Sportmarket does not accept registrations from residents of five countries, listed in the table below, or from a country that is missing from the list on its registration form. The registration rule is in clause 3.7 of the Sportmarket terms, and the registration form is what applies it. The rest of the page covers registration for everyone else.

Countries Sportmarket does not accept

The test is where you live. Sportmarket is one of the brokers we cover, and the full picture is in Sportmarket explained. It does not offer registration to residents of the five countries in the table. The list sits in this one place.

United States of America
United Kingdom
France
Spain
Portugal

The registration form has the last word, and the next section shows how. If a bookmaker has limited your account, we cover that problem in our piece on when a bookmaker limits an account.

Where the rule is written

The rule is clause 3.7 of the terms. You cannot register for an account if you live in a country the clause names, or in "any other jurisdiction not available in the country list upon registration".

The registration form is the working list. "If your country doesn't appear in the registration form, we are unable to offer you an account at this time." For a country outside the table, the form shows whether yours is listed. We open the form before we read a review or a forum thread, because it is the list Sportmarket itself applies. A five-row table beats a forum thread, but the form is what Sportmarket applies.

  • Registration depends on the country where you live (clause 3.7).
  • You cannot use the service where its use would be illegal (clause 3.1).
  • Clause 3.1 also sets the minimum age, 18.

Whether betting online is legal for you depends on the law of the country you live in, and no broker's terms change that.

Registering at Sportmarket if your country is accepted

Four moves take you from the sign-up form to a first bet.

  1. Register an account

Press JOIN NOW. The form runs in two steps, and the first asks for your email, a username, a password, your first and last name, your date of birth and your gender.

  2. Fund the Main Account

The Main Account is the part of the site that handles deposits, withdrawals and transfers. You can pay by bank transfer, card, Neteller, Skrill, MuchBetter or crypto (BTC, USDT and USDC), and a method that is not supported for your country does not appear.

  3. Transfer to the Betting Account

Sportmarket creates the Betting Account for you after registration. It is the account on the Sportmarket Betting Platform, and you move money into it from the Main Account.

  4. Place your first bet

    Press Bet Now.

The identity check sits alongside all of this. Under clause 8.1 Sportmarket reserves the right to ask for proof of age, identity and address at any time, and verification is always needed before a withdrawal or once your deposits total EUR 3,000 or more.

You complete it in the Verification tab of the Main Account. For the documents and the process, see what the identity check involves.

What goes with the account

We go through those conditions before we deposit, not after. Everything you do at a broker runs through this one account (our page on what a betting broker does covers the model), so it pays to get it right on day one.

Questions people ask

Can I register at Sportmarket from my country?

Yes, if your country is not in the table above and appears in the registration form. If it does not appear there, Sportmarket cannot offer you an account at this time.

What happens if I live in a restricted country?

You cannot open an account: registration is not offered to residents of the countries in the table. Each of the other brokers sets its own rules; for those, see the AsianConnect broker page, BetInAsia's list of restricted countries and the MadMarket guide.

What if I move to another country after registering?

A move brings clause 8.5 into play: verification is renewed on request if your address changes. The country you are in matters as well, since the service cannot be used where its use would be illegal.

Can I look at Sportmarket before registering?

Yes, in a limited way. There is no demo account, but the platform can be browsed without signing up, with fewer markets and features and full-time football odds on show.
